Myth vs Fact #54

Myth Fact
Islam: Religion of peace. 8:67 It is not for a Prophet that he should have prisoners of war (and free them with ransom) until he had made a great slaughter (among his enemies) in the land. You desire the good of this world (i.e. the money of ransom for freeing the captives), but Allâh desires (for you) the Hereafter. And Allâh is All-Mighty, All-Wise.
Tafsir: The Command to strike the Enemies’ Necks, tighten Their Bonds, and then free Them either by an Act of Grace or for a Ransom

Allah censures His Prophet for Prohibiting Himself from what He has allowed for Him In the Book of Vows

Bottom Line
  • It is not for a Prophet that he should have prisoners of war until he had made a great slaughter
    • Genocide!
      • mandated
      • sanctified
  • You desire the good of this world
    • mercenary motivation
  • Allâh desires (for you) the Hereafter
    • Genocide is the price of admission…
