About Myth vs Fact

This series of posts, originally published at Freedom Ain’t free, Miss Beth’s Victory Dance, A Newt One and elsewhere, is undergoing revision and being republished here.

The myth: “Islam is a religion of peace”.  The fact: Islam is a war cult. The proof is in its own canon of scripture, tradition & jurisprudence.  The scripture’s meaning is obvious. 3:7 informs us that Allah’s commands are contained in clear verses. Ibn Kathir’s Tafsir of that ayeh makes it crystal clear.

…In it are Verses that are entirely clear, they are the foundations of the Book [and those are the Verses of Al-Ahkâm (commandments, etc.),…

The Muhkamat are the Ayat that explain the abrogating rulings, the allowed, prohibited, laws, limits, obligations and rulings that should be believed in and implemented. [The Mutashabihat and Muhkamat Ayat]

Note the clause I emphasized in the tafsir: obligations that should be implemented.

Each installment begins with an ayeh or hadith, followed by relevant tafsir topic links. Many will have a bottom line segment in which I state the obvious conclusion.

Underlined, bold blue text is linked. Clicking the links will open a source document in a new window or tab. Quranbrowser.com, linked in the Surah:ayeh numbers, displays a table containing ten parallel translations of any ayeh in the Qur’an. It has links for accessing the context.  Most hadith are linked to USC-MSA’s Compendium of Islamic Texts.

Tafsir topics are represented by their titles, linked to tafsir.com. Ibn Kathir presents the Arabic text, English translation, similar ayat & ahadith, drawing his conclusions therefrom.

The King Fahd Complex for the Printing of the Holy Qur’an had disabled the English translation. I find that it is now functioning. The link above is to 2:190; the translator’s commentary for that ayeh defines Jihad in explicit terms, comparable to the definition contained in Reliance of the Traveller. I will link each ayeh to this source so that you can read those foot notes. The same file is available as a pdf, there is a download link in the Resources page.

The Qur’an & hadith form a congruent pattern so that they confirm each other. What Allah said matches what Moe said and did. Tafsirs combine the two and Sharia is based on them.

The Myth vs Fact series consists of approximately 490 quotes which prove beyond doubt that Islam is a mercenary & martial war cult, not a legitimate religion.

The charge of selectivity or cherry picking would be valid if not for this fatal fact: what Allah said is Sharia; law which must be obeyed. Allah said “fight them” & “fight those who“, and Muslims have been fighting us for nearly 14 centuries.

When Thomas Jefferson asked the Algerian Ambassador why they attacked our shipping, he got this answer:

The ambassador answered us that [the right] was founded on the Laws of the Prophet (Mohammed), that it was written in their Koran, that all nations who should not have answered their authority were sinners, that it was their right and duty to make war upon them wherever they could be found, and to make slaves of all they could take as prisoners, and that every Mussulman (or Muslim) who should be slain in battle was sure to go to heaven.

Note the similarity of that answer to what Caliph Umar’s general told the Persians.

Our Prophet, the Messenger of our Lord, has ordered us to fight you till you worship Allah Alone or give Jizya (i.e. tribute); and our Prophet has informed us that our Lord says:– “Whoever amongst us is killed (i.e. martyred), shall go to Paradise to lead such a luxurious life as he has never seen, and whoever amongst us remain alive, shall become your master.” [Bukhari4.53.386]

This series of posts will present relevant ayat, ahadith and Islamic law which, taken together, clearly prove the fatal fact that Islam is mercenary & martial, a war cult, not a religion. You will have the proof, in the form of relevant, verifiable text from the book that makes things clear and its companion texts.
